About Me

Each session offers a unique experience shot on location and rich in character. Here you will find my recent work, as well as all news and updates regarding my schedule. And attention you lurkers out there! yeah.... you know who you are....make yourself known once in a while! Hearing from you makes my day ;)

harper

I had the pleasure of photographing little Harper this evening before the rains came! We got a little nervous when the big black cloud rolled over us...and we felt exactly 4 raindrops. But no rain! Just superb light and this adorable little lady. : ) Harper is 13 months old and is completely content to just crawl and climb. If you try to walk with her, she just plops down. I would want to be carried everywhere like a princess, too, if my husband would allow it. You'd better milk it while ya can, baby! ha ha ha
"....you watchin' me?"
wish I was still that flexible....I hate to admit it, but I quit the gym a couple weeks ago. But what can I say?! I needed more computer time!

jen & dave +2

Today I took pictures of cows for about 5 hours. I feel soooo dirty. Why cows, you might ask. Ward, my farmer friend, raises show calves and asked if I would ride around his pasture (BUMPY pasture, I might add) to photograph the stubborn little fellas. Those little things are so stubborn. We'd get them in just the right position, then their mamas would come stand right in front of them. Very frustrating, but we got 'em done. All for about 10 "keepers." I think I'll stick to human portraits!
So here is Jen and Dave... I work with Jen at the clinic and she's from Wilber, NE. Like Wilber from Mr. Ed on Nick at Night re-runs. Anyway... here's Jen and Dave and their two cutiepies, Chrissy and Drew. Don't they have the most sky-blue eyes on the PLANET?! No photoshop here!!! And nice "cop face," Dave!
Drew was really just too busy climbing the stairs to sit for his portrait... it's simple, really. Climb UP, climb DOWN, avoid the camera at all costs. Good thing Mommy came uber-prepared with fruit snacks and juice to bribe little red.
the many faces of Miss Chrissy.... too cute for her own good.
....more bribes. : ) Never hurts.

ky + jayna

My husband's been out of town all week for training in Omaha, so you'd think I'd get a lot done since I have the house all to myself. NOT! It's been 60% productive, and 40% relaxing, I'd say. : ) Last Saturday, my bff Alisha and I traveled way up to Ericson, NE to take some fun engagement pics for her bro, Ky and his fiance Jayna. What a hilarious couple! They go together like peanut butter and jelly. I love Jana's laugh...there's no mistaking it. And it's so sweet that she calls Ky "my beaut."
It was a tiring drive, but so beautiful. I am a Nebraska native, but I gotta be honest! I've never been in the Sandhills. I think I will go back! Soon! (...and because I have another family's session there in September : ) The light was great, a little cool, and I got to pet some little 3 month old baby goats! One of their name's was Ethel. I should of shot a pic. What was I thinking?
But after numerous clothes changes in the car on back country roads and 2 hours of shooting, we got cleaned up and drove to town where Ky treated our foursome to prime rib at the Starving Stallion. Delicious. A perfect end to a perfect session. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

my faithful assistant... "a little higher, LISH!" lol

cant sleep

I think I'm so tired that I can't sleep....so I've been experimenting with PS. I played golf league tonight and I actually hit the ball pretty well. Not too bad for the second time out this year. That reminds me...I need a sub on June 30th....anyone interested? You must be a member of the club, though. Let me know! Anyway, after golf Alisha (my buddy) and I walked the dogs and then we saw The Hangover. So funny! My cheeks literally hurt from smiling! I'd better get to bed, though....got 8 hrs of work then my first Senior boy of the Summer. : )
And a pic for my blog lurkers (eh HEM...those of you who never leave a comment! You know who you are!)...does it look like this photo has been carried around in a wallet for a while? Does it look vintage? Let me know if you like it...

sisterpalooza

More sisters. I just adore them. Since I'm an only child, I really love to tell a story with sisters. I am actually green with envy, too. I'm really sad that I'll never get to be an aunt and spoil the hell out of any little nieces or nephews. : ( Oh well....I get to photograph sisters and that is how I shall muddle through.

These sisters traveled from Colorado for our session. Meet Cassandra, 16, (the shorter hair) and Elizabeth, 19. Lovely girls....they really let me do whatever! Thanks! : ) I hope you like what you see. (Eventhough it did everything BUT rain during our session) These girls would love to get into modeling. And after working on their sneak peek blog post, I think modeling would love to get into THEM! You are gorgeous in every way, shape, and form. Best wishes, ladies!! : )

My fishtail braid....I was so proud of it, it practically got it's own session!

now booking for SEPTEMBER 2009

Just to let you all know that I have posted dates for September 2009 and I know Summer just barely started, but it's never too soon to start thinking about portraits for holiday cards. I know...I know....it's early. But I have decided to avoid scheduling sessions in December this year (except for my indoor December babies). It's just too darn cold! Runny noses and red cheeks, etc.... So I guess this message is mostly for those procrastinators out there (you know who you are!). Don't delay to schedule your portrait session so you can relax and be warm in the house this December. : ) 'Cause I want to be warm too!

Also, ATTENTION Omaha/Lincoln folks: I will be in Omaha the weekend of September 26th and 27th. I am only scheduling 6 sessions, so call or email me to schedule ASAP. stacyideus@yahoo.com 308-440-8043 I will be photographing in the Old Market and possibly another location yet to be decided.(probably something like a park/gardens) Mileage will be added onto your session fee, but it will be equally divided amongst all my sessions.

scott and melissa +2

Wow! What a great weekend. Got so much done AND had time for fun! But no naps. : ( Oh well. Here is some of the fruit from my labor..... remember this cutie pie tutu girl? This is Avery and she is full of life. So precious in everything she does and says... I'd say "Call Daddy a monkey!" and she'd say "I want to say Daddy is a lion." Don't know why, but I think that's cute. Maybe it was just the cute little way she said "li-on." Still cute. And could Melissa be any hotter? Look at those legs. meowza. See, Melissa works at The Buckle, corporate. Obviously. Will you stock my closet for fall? Pleeeaase? : )

Gorgeous big sis, Kealey, was a little more serious. She can follow directions like no other, though. Born to model, don't ya think?!

I love this pic...so candid. There Avery is, being cute again! : )

At the end of our session, we traveled across town to Cottonmill. A lovely evening. The fishermen were out, folks were picnicing... and the mosquitos feasted. And we were the main course. We paid the price (even after what seemed like a gallon of OFF! Skintastic), but WELL worth it. I think this is my favorite picture from the entire session. I think I pretty much nailed it! : ) The girls got into a little patch of something nasty...I called a few days later to see if their skin was behaving...luckily it had! I still felt really bad.

04 June 2009

sister sister

So excited about these girls! Sheana and Gretchen are sisters who are suprising their Mom for her 50th birthday. So shhhh. YEah....I can't keep these puppies in hiding til August! No way, Jose! Aren't they beautiful? It was a very fun session. We got to have a quick tour of the Kool Tattoo, got stalked by a blue van full of guys (thank goodness they didn't come around while the chickas were trading clothes in the middle of the street), and found the best ever hidden jem of a location in this city....which I'm not tellin' where. But it's good. Really good. Here are some of my fav's... enjoy your sneaky peak, ladies! Can't wait to hear what you think.

is that a squished up monkey face? Say "Banana Monkeys!"

Sheana....if grad assisting doesn't go well, you should model. *wink*

you too, Gretchen!!! : ) *wink* *wink*

I any of you watch "The Hills" on MTV, (cat's out of the bag...it's my guilty pleasure) I think she looks a lot like Audrina Patridge. Beautiful!

02 June 2009

new pillows

I had big plans this afternoon to knock out a session, but I got side-tracked. At Hobby Lobby. I have been wanting a big trunk for a prop, but left with new pillows instead. : ) Complete with tassels. My husband HATES tassels for some reason. Whatever! Oh...and that's our old dog, Toby. He will probably get to enjoy the pillows the most.

01 June 2009

just one

Here we have Avery and Kealey from last night. Wow, Melissa...you hit the nail on the head in the wardrobe department. Could they be more perfect?? Nope! Just one for now, but more to come on this pair soon for sure! So keep checking, Mom. : )
